Well Being Challenge

Is the thought of walking one hour everyday of the year too daunting? Can’t imagine life without a single dessert or French fry? Without a doubt, making changes in your diet or your daily routine can seem intimidating. However, by starting with small changes for a short period of time, you may realize that altering your habits is easier than you thought. Continued long-term, this “behavior change” can be habit-forming.

The goal of the Well Being Challenge is to help you make small, incremental changes that add up to big results. Each month we suggest a minor lifestyle modification (primarily diet- or exercise-related) and challenge you to make that change for the next 30 days. We’re asking you to try-on a new habit and see if it works for you. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is good health.

This month’s challenge:

Enjoy your Bon Appétit meals in a dining area with friends or co-workers rather than eating at your desk or in front of the TV. Paying attention to your meal when you eat will help you savor the aromas, flavors and textures of the food. In addition, eating “mindfully” will make you more aware of your “hunger signals” so you’re less likely to overeat.
